Good luck Don. I feel about retail the way you do radio. I have done other things but I am happiest at retail.

Radio in Canada is not doing particularly well -- the cuts in jobs translate to worse programming, making it hard to listen. The entire industry is in a state of flux -- so I don't think satellite radio is dead -- it's just with every industry going through changes it's going to take a little time to figure out what direction to go...

To borrow a phrase: Don Collet Johnson is right!

I am an old XM subscriber. First, I do not like the changes the merger brought. I lost two on air personalities that I enjoyed on the station I listened to with great regularity.

Second, the issue with Sirius XM is that they have too many high paid radio personalities. I do not pay the extra money for the "Best of Sirius" which gives access to the high dollar talent. I have no interest.

I think you are right. It will survive. My hope is it will return to the way it was before the merger: less moneyed talent and more music. That is what I like about it. I hear music there I hear no where else.

The sports radio station I listen to around here is owned by Cumulus. A few months ago their receptionist got a promotion, and now they don't have a receptionist. I also noticed the person who hosts the top 10 show from 7-9 is now his own news guy. They laid off the guy who was doing it.

Regarding No. 14 -- Sounds like a great YouTube video!
Regarding No. 9 -- Really not a bad duo. They seem to be stigmatized now.
Regarding Nos. 2 and 3 -- Grit was printed about 60 miles (as the crow flies)from my house as I was growing up, yet I never saw an issue until about 2 years ago.
Regarding No. 17 -- I was just mentioning to a friend how I had the primetime TV network lineup remembered for about 10 years growing up. Once we got cable though ...

Wal-Mart still is closed on Christmas day. I do have to go in at 10:00 PM Christmas night and the store re-opens at 6:00 AM. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Don.
